"Using the Avenue of Medicine to Minister the Gospel of Jesus"

Dear Friends and Family,

We pray that this season of our Savior's birth finds each of you embraced with his grace, meeting your every need. We pray that God will heal the things of the past and focus you on the things of the future.

God has been so faithful to bless our three trips to Nigeria this year. We were able to bring in 3 teams, a total of 29 people this year for short term mission trips. We had several medical specialist who accompanied us to International Christian Hospital (ICH), Dr. Haywood Robinson, a Family Practice Physician and his wife Dr. Noreen Johnson, as well as Dr. Johnson's friend and colleague Dr. Gail Jackson who both specialize in OB/GYN, and also Dr. Donald Huene, an Orthopedic surgeon of Nevada. They were all a tremendous blessing as they ministered through their faith and practical skills.

On our trip to Nigeria last month, Dr. Huene was a God send to some special patients who now have use of their hands, and to other patients he assisted with as well. He brought Karen Packer, a physiotherapist and David Davy, a registered nurse. Karen helped with applying and teaching the art of splinting and hand physiotherapy, while David taught our nursing staff the basics of good care and did surgical assisting. Steve Johnson, a computer consultant from Bryan, TX was also a blessing to have along. He was able to make great progress with setting up the new computers for the Bible College. We were able to minister in several churches, seeing a number of people receive salvation and many others encouraged to keep the faith. On this last trip, we were also able to get 13 suitcases of medicine and medical supplies into Nigeria to bless ICH. We did have one suitcase stolen at the domestic airport, but God knows how to make the supplies we sent stretch that much further.

A special thanks to all those who helped consolidate these med.'s both here, and in California. We thank God for Chris Threadgill, who went first to Nigeria with us in March 2000 as part of her practical training after graduating from Aldersgate's mission school. She caught the vision for Nigeria and answered the call to return in June. She has been working effectively since then in just about every area of ministry represented. We are so thankful for everything she has contributed to the ministry there and all the sacrifice she has offered to the Lord and the Nigerian people. She is now on furlough for a few months and is enthusiastic about sharing her experience with individuals or church groups before her return. Please continue your prayers for the hospital and bible college in Nigeria. Also continue to pray that the 40-foot container of medical and missionary supplies that have been delayed now for 9 months due to changes in shipping requirements in Nigeria, will be sent soon. We are so thankful for your prayer and support this year. May you be lavishly blessed by our Saviors love this Christmas Season and throughout the New Year! Let us not forget the reason we celebrate this blessed birth.

WISHING YOU A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY SEASON!

In His love & service,

Stuart & Velvet Quartemont
