Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with
gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord he
is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his
people and the sheep of his pasture. As Velvet has taught the boy’s science this year, this verse has truly
come alive to us. The intricate detail of every living thing absolutely
amazes us, as we realize how divinely precise every living thing was
created. We serve an awesome God who even in the midst of uncertain times
has His hand upon us, and so deeply loves and cares for us. Our first outreach to Nigeria this year, was held in the Ohaji local
government area, about one hour south of Owerri, where I.C.H.
(International Christian Hospital) is located. I met up with Amy and Andy
Hayton, who had flown in from California. They are currently doing an
Internal Medicine and Psychiatry Residency, respectively. The three of us
worked together with 3 to 4 Nigerian doctors to see up to 1000 patients
per day during that week’s outreach. We also held nightly crusades, where
God did amazing things. There were over 4000 in attendance during the
crusade that week. Hundreds of people were saved, delivered, encouraged
and healed. Students from the WAAST bible college were considerably
instrumental in making this a successful outreach. The people of this
village were very needy, not having a nearby pharmacy and having to travel
such a great distance to get quality medical care. We plan to have a
follow-up clinic/outreach in this same area when we return next month. It
is rare that Velvet and our 4 boy’s are able to join in on our trips to
Nigeria, but we are blessed to have the whole family join in on our trip
next month. In addition, we have two ladies from Windsor Village UMC
joining us, as well as one of the residents in our Family Medicine
Residency. There are two anesthesiologists from Nevada joining our team,
who will be assisting us in surgery. We will also continue our progress on
the HIV vaccine research, which has been going very well. Please pray for our trip to Nigeria this next month: Pray that God would prepare peoples heart's to be open to receive
whatever God would have us minister to them. Our upcoming trip to Nigeria will be during the month of October. If
you or any one you know of has interest in this trip, please let us know.
Our accomplishments during 2006: Took two medical missionary teams to Nigeria, with medical and
evangelistic outreaches in Imo State and Anambra State. Ministered the
gospel in various churches. God has been so faithful in providing for our every need over the
passed 18 years, since we began the work in Nigeria. We are so grateful to
those of you who have been willing vessels and have contributed in some
way to this ministry. Because of you, much has been accomplished. Great
strides were made in 2006, and we plan even greater things for the future.
Thank you so very much for your past and continued support. Yours for the Kingdom,
